Additional sustainable practices such as removing single use plastics, energy improvement installations, as well as simple changes (e.g. printer management), have led to an increased performance with reduced environmental impact.
What we have done so far…
Going green isn’t just something we talk about – it’s who we are at the core. We’ve made it our mission to slash energy use and shrink our carbon footprint wherever we can. From big changes to small tweaks, we’re transforming how we work to leave a lighter mark on the planet.
We began with simple changes – saving energy, recycling, and streamlining operations. Then we stepped it up: cutting single-use plastics, upgrading energy systems, and rethinking printers. The result? Greater efficiency, less waste, and a healthier planet.
By collaborating with like-minded suppliers, we’re building a business that’s eco-friendly today and ready for tomorrow.
Making more use of occupancy and daylight sensors
Changing light bulbs from fluorescent to LED
Installing more time clocks and thermostats
Fitting draught excluders to external doors and windows
Replacing outdated equipment with more energy efficient equivalents
Plants in the office
Plants in the office aren’t just pretty—they’re productivity boosters! They reduce stress, lift moods, and even clean the air. Bonus: a well-placed leafy friend can cut office noise by up to 5 decibels, turning chatter into calm. Science backs it up, so why not let plants do the heavy lifting while you work?
E-bikes
Thanks to a grant from the Business Travel Network, backed by Bournemouth, Poole, and Dorset councils, we’re setting up an electric bike pool. The goal? To make sustainable travel easier for everyone and help local employers offer greener travel options to their teams.
Electric Vehicles
We’re on the road to a greener future! With 23 electric vehicles in our fleet, we’re reducing emissions, saving on fuel, and making sustainable travel the norm.
Zero to Landfill
We’re proud to share that Shoots is officially Zero to Landfill! Partnering with The Resource South and BIFFA, we’ve ensured that all our waste is processed responsibly – nothing ends up in landfill.
Ecologi
At Shoots Training, we’re growing futures, literally! Through Ecologi, we plant 25 trees for every new employer we partner with, helping to tackle climate change one sapling at a time. Every tree contributes to reforestation projects across the globe, including Madagascar, Kenya, Uganda and beyond. Alongside tree planting, our funding supports impactful climate projects such as wind power developments in Honduras and Mexico, helping to reduce carbon emissions and accelerate the transition to cleaner energy.
