We’re Proud to Share Our Latest NCFE Quality Assurance Results

We’re delighted to share the feedback from our latest NCFE External Quality Assurance (EQA) visit, which took place on 14 August.

The result was a very strong report, with no actions required for either Assessment or Internal Quality Assurance, meaning our low-risk status with NCFE continues.

What This Means for You

If you’re an employer: NCFE regulated our training, assessment and quality assurance to check everything meets the national standards. This visit found no issues at all. That confirms two things for you: your staff’s training is independently verified as high quality, and certificates get issued faster, since we can confirm passes ourselves instead of waiting on NCFE to sign off each one.

If you’re a learner: This means your assessments have been independently checked and confirmed as fair and consistent, you’re being marked to the same standard as every other learner on your course. It also confirms your trainers are properly supported and your progress is being tracked closely.

In short: the qualification you’re working towards is solid, and it’ll hold value once you finish.

What the Report Recognised

The visit highlighted a number of real strengths in how we deliver and quality assure our provision, including:

  • Consistent use of the correct qualification specifications across the provision
  • Strong planning of delivery and assessment, aligned to qualification requirements
  • A good range of assessment methods being used effectively, including observations, professional discussions, assignments, projects, work products and questioning
  • Assessment decisions being valid, reliable and consistent across the qualifications sampled
  • Supportive and developmental learner feedback, including appropriate stretch and challenge, especially within the Level 1 programmes
  • Accurate learner tracking and monitoring through APTEM
  • A strong, risk-based Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) strategy, which incorporates sampling, trainer observations and standardisation
  • Regular standardisation with clear records, minutes and recordings demonstrating consistency and the sharing of good practice
  • Developmental IQA feedback which supports trainers and learner progression
  • Consistency and agreement across trainers’ assessment decisions

NCFE has also confirmed that we’ve maintained Direct Claims Status across all qualifications currently eligible for it.

Recognising the Team Behind It

“We’re delighted with the outcome of our latest NCFE quality visit, a very strong report with no concerns raised, and our low-risk status confirmed once again.

It’s a real reflection of the consistency and care our trainers and Quality team bring to their work every day. Thank you to everyone involved, and particularly to Claire and Zoe for the work they put into quality assurance and standardisation behind the scenes.

Our next visit is due in February 2027, and we’re focused on maintaining the strong and consistent practice recognised within this report.”

Looking Ahead

While no actions came out of this visit, NCFE has shared its new sanctions policy along with guidance on the use of AI in assessment. We’ll be reviewing both and building them into our ongoing standardisation and CPD activity, so our practice stays current and consistent.
